Happy New Year!
Have you set yourself any New Year’s Resolutions for 2019? This year, I struggled to think of big goals to set myself – 2018 has been a year of lots of change and I’m still settling into this new season of my life. So, for 2019 I’ve decided to set myself 12 months of challenges throughout the year – a different challenge for each month.
Each of these challenges will be completed through the whole month, and will help me to grow closer to God. I will be recording my progress by using a page in my bullet journal and marking off each day that I complete the challenge.
Here are some ideas for challenges that you could complete over a month as part of your own 12 months of challenges!
Read a Psalm each day for a month.
Create a prayer diary and pray for a different topic each day.
Read a chapter a day of a great Christian book (see some of my recommendations here).
Try a creative prayer idea each day.
Pray for 5 non-Christians every day (here are some ideas for how to do this).
Read through a whole book of the Bible – depending on the number of days in the month, you could read a chapter a day of 1 Samuel, Proverbs, Matthew or Acts. Or complete several through the month.
Complete a random act of kindness each day.
Spend 30 minutes in silent prayer each day.
Memorise a Bible Verse by writing it out or reading it aloud each day for a month.
Write a prayer each day of the month.
Keep a prayer journal.
What other ideas could you add to your 12 months of challenges?
